OnePlus Nord gets OxygenOS Open Beta 5

OnePlus released its first ever mid range 5G smartphone last year, the OnePlus Nord. The phone has now received the OxygenOS Open Beta 5 update that fixes a number of existing bugs along with some network connectivity improvements.

The OxygenOS Open Beta 5 fixes several bugs such as the frame drop issue that was frequent in the recent Open Beta 4. The update also fixes the annoying abnormal view in the Nightscape Tripod Mode available in the camera app. The developers also fixed the connectivity issues such as the reduced Wi-Fi speed present in the previous open betas.

  • Fixed the issue that the preview may display abnormally in Nightscape Tripod mode
  • Fixed the issue that the Camera becomes unresponsive when setting profile photo in Contact
  • Fixed the frame drops issue with the videos taken by the Camera
  • Fixed the issue that the preview abnormally display 0.6x ultra-wide in 1080P 60fps

We should remind you that the OxygenOS Open Beta 5 may not be as stable compared to the official releases. They are in the beta stage because there might be some unreported bug or glitch and is purely intended for developers for testing purposes. Users are always recommended to make a backup of their device before installing the Beta builds of OxygenOS.

In case you are already on the OxygenOS Open Beta 4, you will be able to upgrade to the Open Beta 5 using the OTA update feature.

The OnePlus Nord is a mid range smartphone by OnePlus that comes with a 6.44-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate and support for HDR 10+. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC and comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage.

It is a 5G enabled smartphone that comes with a quad camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor and 32MP front snapper. The OnePlus Nord starts from $331 in the United States.
