The first reactions of The Suicide Squad are in and let us tell you they point straight towards the direction of theatres. Most of the critics have acclaimed it to be “insane”, “violent” and “funny”, which makes us think that The Suicide Squad is going to land perfectly on the expectations of its fans.
The Suicide Squad second movie in the franchise, which re-births a Taskforce X, will see some new faces in the form of Bloodsport (Idris Elba), Peacemaker (John Cena), The Thinker (Peter Capaldi), Blackguard (David Dastmachian), Polka-Dot Man (Michael Rooker), Savant (Nathan Fillion), Arm-Fall-Off-Boy (Daniela Melchior), Ratcatcher (Steve Agee), King Shark (Sylvester Stallone’s voice), Weasel (Sean Gunn) and The Javelin (Flula Borg).
But some fan favorites are bound to return. Viola Davis, with her badass character Amanda Walker. Margot Robbie, the crazy girlfriend, and psychiatrist as Harley Quinn. Joel Kinnaman and Jai Courtney as Rick Flag and Captain Boomerang respectively.
Even with a new cast, it seems like Suicide Squad has won over the hearts of the early-watchers of the movies. The band of misfits and outlaws, this time have a new mission on Corto Maltese Island, where they risk their lives to save others, in their villainy way. Mission Project Starwish sees our anti-heroes causing mayhem and chaos but will they succeed or not is something you will get to know when you have watched the movie.
Until then we can only rely on the early reactions for any information and these are some things they have to say:
Folks, the best way I can describe #TheSuicideSquad is it’s like that feeling you’d get as a kid watching something awesome that you knew you really shouldn’t be watching, but that you knew you’d watch every chance you got. It’s a late ’80s hard-R in the DCEU. Totally wild!

I really loved #TheSuicideSquad. It’s funny and gory and foul-mouthed like you’d expect, but it’s also deeply tragic and heartfelt with an underlying kindness I absolutely didn’t expect. It’s just as much satire as it is shoot-em-up. More thoughts once I’m able, but truly wowed.
The film, directed by James Gunn, follows the titular group of villains and anti-heroes on a mission to the fictional island of Corto Maltese. They’ll be going up against the alien Starro, a giant starfish-like creature who has the ability to control minds.

IGN’s Eric Goldman shared on Twitter,
“Yeah, I loved #TheSuicideSquad. Just delightfully, gleefully goes all out with mayhem, gore, profanity, and naughtiness but then has some really heartfelt moments that you can invest in. And I loved the whole cast a whole lot.”
The trailers released so far have set the tone of the movie, and it seems like James Gunn has proved himself again, keeping in mind the positive review the movie is getting (According to the Critics at least). James Gunn is a screenwriter and director previously noted for his work in Guardians of the Galaxy. It seems like he has now found his niche in a group of antiheroes as well.
When Gunn was asked about the movie and his previous ventures this is something he had to say, “I don’t think most people think that Star-Lord’s ( Guardian of The Galaxy protagonist) head is going to explode in the middle of the movie,” Gunn said. “Any of these characters [in The Suicide Squad], their heads could explode in the middle of the movie. It’s that unknown of being on edge and really not knowing what’s going to happen is much different.”
Well after hearing such reactions, Fans are waiting with excitement to take a look at this movie themselves. Suicide Squad will be released both in theatres and HBO Max on August 6, 2021. With selective theatres holding an early screening.
