Epic Games wanted to add Samus Aran to Fortnite but failed

Epic Games’ Fortnite is still one of the most popular online battle royale games. With millions of active players playing the game daily, one thing is for sure. Fortnite is not going to die down soon.

Rumors about the game spread faster than wildfires do. A few months ago, a rumor came to light that Samus Aran, the protagonist in the Nintendo game Metroid, will come to Fortnite. Sources also suggest that Epic Games had even acquired the rights to the character but unfortunately hit a roadblock named Nintendo.

Of course, Nintendo did want the deal to go through. As a result, Epic had to exclude her from the upcoming list of characters. If you don’t know who Samus Aran is, she is the lead character in the Metroid series. She was also spotted in Super Smash Bros series some time ago.

However, this was during Chapter 2 of Fortnite, which witnessed several notable characters added to the game. Fortnite also features Master Chief from Halo and Kratos from God of War.

Having said that, the concept was never materialized, and Samus Aran was not added to the game. The information became apparent when one of the leaks during the Epic Games vs. Apple trial revealed that Samus Aran would be one of the playable characters. Eventually, Epic Games scrapped it due to reasons unknown.
