The last update to iOS 14, iOS 14.5, brought in lots of new features and bug fixes. The Cupertino-based company recently released the iOS 14.6 for all iPhones newer than the iPhone 6S.
While the latest version of iOS isn’t a major update, it comes with two new features the tech giant announced last month. The much anticipated Apple Card Family is now available with the latest update. It enables users to add two members to the Family Sharing group, thus allowing them to share one Apple Card. The Apple Family Card feature lets you track purchases across devices, manage the spending and even build credit together.
The company also allows parents to share their cards with their children and limit the amount of money they can spend along with other controls. It should be noted that the feature is only available in the United States right now.
The other notable feature is the addition of support for Apple Podcasts Subscriptions. It allows listeners from more than 170 countries to subscribe to Apple Podcasts from within the podcasts. The premium subscribers have access to several features, such as ad-free listening and access to additional content. They are also eligible for exclusive access to a new series.
The current list of premium subscription providers includes Pushkin Industries, The Athletic, Tenderfoot TV, Radiotopia from PRX, QCODE, NPR, Sony Music Entertainment, and The Los Angeles Times more.
Other changes included in the iOS 14.6 are finding AirTag and some Find My changes. Users will be able to add an email address instead of a phone number to an AirTag. One of the more useful changes includes unlocking your device using only voice when you restart the phone.
