Realme 9 Pro+ might include a heart rate sensor, as per Madhav Sheth

Realme, a sub-brand of Oppo, has recently confirmed that it is launching its 9 Pro and 9 Pro+ models in India soon. As the model name suggests, both the devices will be a part of the Realme 9 series in the mobile market. Realme has already begun teasing both models, and the launch is fast approaching.

Currently, there is no actual timeframe available. A quick glance at the teasers shows the Realme 9 Pro+ model may come with a heart rate sensor. Madhav Sheth, Realme’s CEO, has announced on Twitter that the Realme 9 Pro+ will have a heart rate sensor to track your heartbeat at all times.

If you’re still curious about the workings of a heart rate sensor, you should know that there will be an in-display fingerprint sensor on the device that will accomplish the task. However, you’ll have to hold your finger steady for a few seconds until the scan process is complete. The dedicated heart rate tracking option on the handset will allow you to keep track of all of your heartbeats, lows & highs, etc.

While Realme isn’t the first company to implement this kind of heart rate sensor on a smartphone, Samsung has done it back in 2014 on the Galaxy S5. Samsung’s device was the first ever to include such a feature. Another device, the Lava Pulse, also has this capability. In addition, Xiaomi phones also measure heart rate. However, we’re unsure how the feature works and what the accuracy is of software-based heart rate tracking.

The Realme 9 Pro+ and 9 Pro seem to have stunning mobile photography capabilities. The phones are also lightweight and stylish. Realme 9 Pro and 9 Pro+ will have a faster refresh rate along with an AMOLED display. In addition, it will support fast charging up to 65W and come with Android 12 out of the box. The Realme 9 Pro will feature a 64MP triple rear camera and be packed with a Snapdragon 695 SoC.

Meanwhile, the Realme 9 Pro+ could come with a 50 MP camera and a MediaTek Dimensity 920 processor. The two models might be on the budget side. To find out the exact price, however, we will have to wait a bit longer. However, the expected price range is around INR 16,999 to INR 20,999.
