Shang-Chi trailer hints at Marvel villain ‘Abomination’ coming back

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings still have a couple of months to go before it hits the theatres on September 3 this year. The movie producers recently released another trailer that gives us a look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s latest movie.

The trailer was released during ESPN’s NBA countdown on Thursday. All in all, like every other Marvel movie out there, the action looks fantastic and gripping. However, the end of the trailer is where all the action is at. One can see Abomination, the same character from the 2008 movie The Incredible Hulk. What’s more? We can see Tony Leung Mandarin’s power of the titular rings. He even seems to have the head fin, just like in the comics.

The movie features Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, with Awkwafina and Michelle Yeoh. The first trailer of the movie came out in April this year. The director of the movie, Destin Daniel Cretton, says,

Shang-Chi’s main problem in his life is rooted in not knowing who he really is. He has to learn how to own every part of himself. If he doesn’t allow himself to look at all of it — the good, the bad, the light and the dark — and to own it all, he won’t be able to reach his full potential.

If we look at this year’s lineup, this is the second of four movies planned for 2021. Black Widow will soon be hitting theatres and also coming to Disney Plus. However, it will only be available for users with the Premium Premiere Access system. The film will be available on July 9.

The third and fourth movies include Eternals, scheduled to come out in November, followed by Spider-Man: No Way Home in December.
