Samsung is known for its stunning electronics products and when it comes to the smartphone segment, it’s one of the top brands in the market across the globe. Samsung not only focuses on its premium segment devices but is also one of the active brands to work on tablet devices and rugged smartphones too. Well, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy XCover phone has been spotted on Google Play Console recently.
Samsung’s XCover lineup offers fully functional rugged Android smartphones which feature IP68 water & dust resistance, drop to concrete resistance (up to 1.5 meters), etc. While it also includes a military-grade standard rating for toughness, corning gorilla glass protection to prevent scratches on the screen, and more. There are a couple of previous models Samsung has released such as XCover Pro, XCover 4, XCover 5, etc.
It’s been some time since Samsung offered a rugged Active edition of the Galaxy S devices. So, the company is now working on another upcoming XCover model which might be called ‘XCover Pro 2’. As the new device is listed on Google Play Console, it indicates that the device might arrive soon.
The product name “xcoverpro2sq” has been listed on Google Play Console. However, initially, the expected name associated with the listing is ‘Galaxy XCover6 Pro’. So, there is some confusion about the official name and model.
The Google Play Console listing shows the Qualcomm Snapdragon SM7325 (Snapdragon 778G) chipset, 1,080 x 2,400 display resolution, 450ppi density, a 5.8 inches screen, etc. Talking about the overview design, it looks almost the same as its predecessors where we can see an Infinity-U screen with the thick bezels all around for better ruggedness.
It’s expected that the device will come with Android 12 (One UI 4.1) out of the box. We’ll have to wait for more leaks until Samsung officially unveils any teaser or poster in the upcoming months.
