YouTube has started rolling out a major redesigned version of its application on Apple TV with tvOS, according to a report. The update brings the same YouTube interface that the tech giant launched for Google TV a little over a year ago. The new UI for Apple’s streaming box is YouTube’s latest interface that Google uses on its other platforms.
Like said before, the basis of this new user interface was first rolled out to Google TV back in November 2019. It’s now over a year later that the technology giant is bringing it to the Apple TV. Google made some additional tweaks to the YouTube UI in March last year by bringing new borders, darker backgrounds, and a few other aesthetic changes. But as it’s coming to Apple TV, users around the world will now experience a major YouTube redesign on Apple’s streaming box.
Redesigned YouTube App for Apple TV
Since the update with the redesigned YouTube app has already started rolling out to Apple TV users around the world, users should soon notice a change in the interface. Those of you who already have received this update should start seeing the new UI, which is pretty different from the previous Apple TV interface. However, users who are not the YouTube Premium subscribers will notice a large Masthead ad alongside the content.
Speaking of the rollout, and as also said before, the update is being released slowly and it’ll take a while to reach all users. The new version of YouTube for Apple TV is rolling out worldwide and was first spotted in Germany by a Reddit user. Another reliable report also claims that it is also rolling out in the United States. So, if you have received the update already, good, but if you haven’t, you should wait till it’s available for you. It should not take too long, though.
