The Poco X3 Pro is the company’s mid-range flagship offering in the Indian market.
Some Poco X3 Pro users are reporting that they are getting the MIUI 12.5 software update. Currently, the update is being rolled out in phases and is only available to limited users.
If no critical issues are discovered, the company will release the update to the general public. Anuj Sharma, the director of Poco India, said,
the reason for the limited release is to monitor if any possible network or app that’s not part of our test case behaves different from intended
If you are interested in the new MIUI 12.5 update, the build version corresponding to the update is MIUI 220.127.116.11.RJUINXM. The size of the update is 830MB and is updated to the June 2021 security patch.
It is surprising to see MIUI on the June security patch since Xiaomi, Poco, and Redmi phones are months behind in security updates.
As with every other “custom device model adjustment,” the MIUI 12.5 update is set to make the phone faster in some way or another.
Moreover, the update also instantly responds to some gestures and makes the UI somewhat light and faster. Poco also said that MIUI 12.5 helps achieve “20 times more rendering power”, whatever that means.
Last but not least, the Notes app is also receiving a huge update. It now supports gesture shortcuts, dynamic layouts, excerpts, and mind map to create complex structures and introduce some new tools for doodling and sketching.
